Last week (before I got sick and barely leave the house) I got some acrylic paints.
These are really tiny ink containers (20g) - below you can see the colours that I fell in love with. I also choose colours that could work with the acrylics that I already own.
On next night I thought it was time to try them and that was what I came up with.
Conclusion - it's been awhile since I paint with acrylics and watercolours, it's easier to use them when you use them regularly. Practice makes you know the medium that your using. For sure it's something to keep using.
Lately I've trying and playing a little with my watercolours. In this case I was trying to use some shadows. I messed up the face (and I'm not even mention the hands) but the sweater looks how I wanted it to look and I really like the typography message.
Not all drawings are a success but I'm ok with that. (or at least I should remind myself of that).
During the month of January I'm doing a Daily Drawing Challenge - 31 Things to draw with themes by the artist Lisa Congdon. I may not be doing them daily, but they are great drawing exercises. They make you draw things that you otherwise wouldn't draw. I choose a Kuretake fine black marker to use during this challenge. In the beginning of the challenge I only use marker, but in the last days that I'm showing today, I started to use some pencil before using the marker. It's the way I feel more comfortable to draw.

| I didn't like the simple cats that were suggested to draw. From this sheet this was the only one that I liked. |

Could be a INKtober drawing, but it wasn't. Just a rant about a crazy monday.
My reaction to last Monday morning. I was expecting a quite and productive morning, instead there was noise, constant interruptions and no work done.
used:
Pentel Brush Pen
Black Fine liner 0.1
Copic Ciao Markers
Sketchbook
A sketch of me in my happy little corner in my living room. This is were usually sit and work, but also spend endless hours on the internet (and sometimes even playing Sims 4).
I also read and draw in this spot. It can be messy, but I'm working on it.
And filled the first page with a drawing about it! It was also a comeback to paint with coloured pencils. And also a comeback of cartoonish self portraits in one of my most common outfits (my three shades of grey outfit - completely NOT related with any Shades of Grey book)
I'm quite happy with my sketchbook this week. I've been doing at least one sketch a day. Something I've missed a lot in the past months.
Usually for these type of sketches I'll find inspiration online, through the blogs and websites I scroll.
One thing I've really missded was to draw people in street style.
Of course my new babbies, aka my new Copic markers also we're a plus on going back drawing. Between those, poscas and watercolours I can actually make some really nice things.
For Nuts for Paper we had a custom order for a plannwe autumnal elements. After I had the line art for the digital versions I had this urge of painting them.
Recently I've also found out that drawing trees and trunks is quite relaxing. Now I laugh at my old self for so many years avoid drawing trees. "- You see now, it's not that hard! You just have to keep drawing them."
I've also found out that I like to make little squirrel cameos over the custom order illustrations (when it's possible of course). In the doggy illustration that I've shared in Nuts for Paper blog, I've also added two squirrels. In this case there was only one, but it's quite the main characther in the back cover. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have a photo of that planner too.
